Philanthropic Service for Institutions (PSI) is a ministry of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. PSI supports the financial sustainability and accessibility of Adventist education at the elementary and secondary school levels. We provide fundraising training, board seminars, and limited grant funding to facilitate the implementation of fundraising best practices. Below is a description of PSI’s key academy initiative–The Model Academy Philanthropy Program.
Model Academy Philanthropy Program 2.0
MAP 2.0 is a grant program, intended for denominationally run elementary and secondary educational institutions with a full-time development officer, to implement best practice processes, policies, and procedures. These SDA schools will also leverage the strategic use of donor analytics to assess the health of their fundraising programs and to grow their development programs annually. MAP 2.0 recipients receive:
- A $25,000 North American Division Grant ($10,000 Year One + $15,000 Year Two)
- Annual Board Training
- Semiannual Site Visits
- Donor Analytics Reporting & Recommendations
- Limited Pool of Independent Consulting Hours
As part of their grant funding requirements, participating institutions will create fundraising plans, conduct board campaigns, plan and execute fundraising events, run alunmi-giving campaigns, employ direct response campaigns, and implement major donor visits.
Program applications are accepted on a rolling basis. However, grant applications are evaluated and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Only complete applications will be processed. Limited funding exists, so visit MAP-Application today to submit your application.
Volunteer-led Academy Fundraising Training (Launching in 2026)
This program will consist of virtual training modules created specifically for volunteer-led fundraising teams. The goal is to increase the number of academies embarking on fundraising training and potentially readying themselves to be able to eventually apply for the more rigorous MAP 2.0 grant listed above. Limited slots for the Volunteer-led Academy Fundraising Training Program will exist, so visit Volunteer-led Academy Fundraising Application to submit your interest forms now.
Training topics and seminars will include:
- Every Member Campaigns
